Connectivity is a collection of drawings, prints and paintings that explore the connections between ourselves—specifically our bodies—and the natural world.Emily Louise Howard was born in Burlington, Vermont. She was raised in Erlanger, Kentucky and educated at the University of Kentucky, where she received a B.F.A. in painting. Emily went on to get her M.F.A. in painting and her M.A.A.E. with K-12 licensure at the University of Cincinnati. She still lives in Erlanger, carving blocks at her kitchen table and cleaning screens in the bathtub down the hall.
Since art has been a part of Emily’s life from her earliest memories, there is a childlike wonder that has always accompanied the process. As a voracious reader, she is inspired by the Brothers Grimm, Native American mythologies, as well as the brutally raw beauty of nature – especially the woods.
