December 2010

This month Fabricate features the opening reception for Snell Vs Quotah: Works by Jason Snell and Yusef Quotah on Saturday, December 11th from 7–11 p.m.

Jason Snell is the man behind the ‘We Have Become Vikings’ brand. He describes himself, first and foremost, as an artist and a designer. Beneath that creative umbrella, he wears many hats including: motion designer, graphic designer, art director, artist, illustrator and musician.

“All of my endeavors start with an idea taken from my everyday life experience, inspiration from fellow artists/designers, myself and other’s music and from friends and family. My job and my passion is, through creative process and hard work, to turn these ideas into a visual and experienced reality,” says Snell.

Snell received a BFA within the Fine Arts/Digital Design program at the University of Cincinnati’s School of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning (DAAP) in 2001. Since then, he’s been involved in a wide variety of projects, both large and small, and has worked dually for Fortune 100 clients as well as small boutiques all over the world.

Yusef Quotah is a Cleveland born, Saudi Arabian raised, illustrator, animator, musician and DAAP Design alumni. He draws inspiration from everything including: the works of Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli, Videogames, Douglas Adams books and music.

While examining his work, try not to look too deeply into why he does anything. More than likely the answer will be: “Well, I thought it looked kinda cool,” says Quotah.

Fabricate welcomes you to join them for the new art show accompanied by PROJECTMILL DJ’s and potable beverages.

Afterward, follow everyone down to Mayday for the Fabricate After-Party featuring S. Carey (Bon Iver Drummer) and White Hinterland.
